Are you interested in serving during the summer of 2012 in Latin America? Come to this information session to learn more. If you're still in high school, bring a parent/guardian!
Founded in 1965, Amigos de las Américas (AMIGOS) is an international, non-profit organization that empowers students to develop leadership skills and increase multi-cultural understanding through training and community service in Latin America.
Supported by a strong network of Pan-American chapters, teenagers and young adults from diverse backgrounds work successfully with host communities and partner agencies to address health and education priorities.
AMIGOS Volunteers immerse themselves in the lives of their host communities and truly experience collaborative development work. During its 46-year history, more than 24,000 AMIGOS Volunteers have gained a life-long commitment to community service, while strengthening multicultural understanding and friendships in the Americas.
Volunteer opportunities will be throughout Latin America, and final country announcements will be made in the fall.Three to four hour training sessions will be held in Boston every two to three weeks from November until May. There will also be two to three overnight training retreats.
Can't make the session but want to learn more? Take a look at our Facebook page, our local website (www.amigosboston.org), our national website (www.amigoslink.org), or email us at bostonchapteramigos@gmail.com.
